Don’t Quit Now, Please!

gold

The California Gold Rush Story is one of the stories that featured in my book, INSPIRED: A Collection of Inspiring True-Life Stories for Every Situation. I’m certain a lot of people have read or heard about this story; it was a popular story used by motivational speakers and writers some two decades ago.

I believe the popularity of this story, besides being a true story, was due to the fact that it portrays a common human tragedy: giving up just at the edge of a breakthrough.

I particularly love the ending of the story that says: There is gold in you, too. Do you need to dig three feet further?

The story’s central message is a calling: don’t quit now, please! Whatever it is you desire, whatever it is you’re pursuing, keep working at it until you have it. I know it is hard; I’m in it so I know. But I also know so many others like me and you have forged through the difficulties and emerged victorious. And that leaves me with only one option: to make it. To keep working, trying, improving until I get there and get it! To win! To make a difference! To make my mark and leave the world a better place. To realize my vision for the ones I love and this world generally.

Let this also be your only option. Because closer than you think, if you will not give up now, is the breakthrough you so desire. Hold on, please.

  1. I was wondering if you ever thought of changing the layout
of your site? Its very well written; I love what
youve got to say. But maybe you could a little more in the way of content so
people could connect with it better. Youve got an awful lot of text for
only having 1 or two images. Maybe you could space it out better?

    1. Great suggestion Stuart. I just moved the blog from my personal website to the free wordpress blog and there’s still a lot of catching up for me to do. You will see changes soon enough; just keep coming back and enjoying the posts. Thanks
