For there is hope for a tree,
If it is cut down, that it will sprout again,
And that its tender shoots will not cease.
Though its root may grow old in the earth,
And its stump may die in the ground,
Yet at the scent of water it will bud
And bring forth branches like a plant.
But man dies and is laid away;
Indeed he breathes his last
And where is he?
As water disappears from the sea,
And a river becomes parched and dries up,
So man lies down and does not rise.
Till the heavens are no more,
They will not awake
Nor be roused from their sleep.
– Holy Bible
No matter how long you live, when the end finally comes for you, you will realize that you’ve not lived long enough to do all that you would love to do, to enjoy all that you would love to enjoy.
Stop wasting time. Your time here on earth is limited. Make your life count; make the most of the life you’re given. If you have dreams or goals, begin working on them from this moment. Read a book; attend a seminar; consult a professional or mentor; do something that will move you in the direction of that goal or dream, even if only slightly.
I do not mean to scare you, not in any way. But believe me, no one is guaranteed tomorrow. All that we have is today, this very moment. So stop dreaming or wishing for the life that you want; start doing something solid to create that life now. Life is waiting for you, ready to say yes to all your demands. But you’ve got to stand up and confidently demand for all that you deserve. Now is the time, for now is all that you’ve got; it’s what we’ve all got. Begin today. Begin now.
